MOMMY WORKING NIGHTS

When I first started working as a nurse, I loved the night shift. Patients slept, no family, no doctors…for the most part! I was able to treat patients and not the things going on around them! Well now I am going to the day shift. I am very nervous cause it is way more busy on days. Patients are always leaving the floor for procedures or tests, families are there, doctors are writing pages of orders. I am hoping I can transition.
Daddy and Lucy tried to do the night shift! It did not work well for Daddy! Lucy liked to get up and play from 2 am til 5 am! She seems to sleep perfectly with her Gigi and Pops…
Hopefully working days will get everyone on a good sleep schedule…including Miss Lucy!  I have 3 nights left! Daddy is so excited!

My growing girl!

Lucy has grown so much! On Tuesday Sept 7th she had her 2 month old check up and the first round of immunizations! Mommy and Lucy both handled the shots very well.

Lucy’s new favorite toy is her bouncy seat! She loves it! She has also discovered ceiling fans! She thinks those are so funny.

We recently had the opportunity to have a photo session with a local photographer Melonie Brister. The pictures are amazing! This is the first one I saw! I started to cry! My little girl is so big!

Lucy is also loving her baths! That is her favorite part of the day! She likes to have the warm water running over her! She gets so relaxed! Mommy and Daddy love to watch her feel so good!

Mommy started back to work on nights on Sept 8th. Daddy and Lucy did the night shift at home while Mommy did the night shift at work. Mommy is def gonna be looking for a daytime job so she can spend more time with Lucy!

Sisters

So I was really nervous about Lucy meeting her sisters. The situation with getting to see them is hard and complicated. But I said my prayers and we were able to see them! I am not sure how their mom feels about the baby….but I am sure we will find out soon enough. Anyways….they loved her! SAM_1040 Thats Bella (blonde) and Ariel! They are gorgeous! Thats how I knew Wes could make pretty babies! :D

I didnt really try to force the idea of sisters on them…but they thought she was great. We had a little party with those in Wes’ family that could come see her!

Lucy Ann has arrived!

After 14 hours of labor and at a stand still for 6 hours, Dr T Guidry decided that a c-section would be the best option to finally meet our little girl. So at 8:45 pm on July 6, 2010, Wes and I were thrilled to meet our gorgeous little girl! She weighed 7lbs 3oz and was 19.5 inches long.

We were able to go home on Friday. Lucy was all dressed in the gorgeous dress her daddy bought for her!

We are thoroughly enjoying her! I am not ready to go back to work yet! Breastfeeding is going well. She is growing. The last weight in was 8lbs 4oz! So we are growing! I am loving being a mommy.

Update

So right now I am at 36 weeks and 2 days of my pregnancy! Little Miss Lucy is moving around a lot more. I can feel her feet and knees moving around and its quite a strange experience. I am so thankful I have been able to share this with my family. I regularly try to let my sisters feel her moving in there. I think its weird for them too.

Two weeks ago I had my baby showers. Thats right 2 of them in one weekend! We had a lot of fun. Wes' mom, brother, sister, and 2 nephews came down for the weekend. Wes was sweet enough to watch the 2 boys while the ladies attended both showers!

We were very lucky to receive almost everything we registered for and lots of gift cards. Now we are going to be moving in with my grandmother, NANNIE!

Nannie has a large 2 story house with 4 bedrooms upstairs and 2.5 bathrooms. She has graciously agreed to let us move in with our baby and save up some money. So we are gonna try to get some things moved in before the baby gets here!

Wes has been busy going offshore fishing with some friends. He is enjoying the boat to its fullest before Lucy gets here. He has also been working at Shaw off Lincoln Rd doing some construction. We are hoping he hears from a land oil rig company soon so he can start working there again. He did that before he moved down here. So he is looking forward to working there again.Well gotta start packing up some stuff. Hope everyone has a great day!

I graduated from nursing school and work on as a pediatric nurse and an oncology nurse. I am not sure if I want to stay in the hospital setting after Lucy gets here. We shall see!

We survived!

We survived Ike...we evacuated to Little Rock, Arkansas! It was a great mini-vacation for me! The rest of my family had some damage..so they did not agree! We got home and started school the next day! We have hit the ground running! Chloe did not adjust well, we woke up our last morning there and she had hives! It was a very horrible experience! We got her all fixed up, and I for one was very anxious! She is much better now and I am seeking alternatives to controlling the allergies.
Here are some pics of her in her CHEERLEADER outfit!! LOVE IT!
